Our educators nurture creativity in their classrooms to encourage our students to be future innovators.
More and more schools are focusing on standardised tests, but here at Rainbow School we believe true learning occurs when teachers spark a child’s inner creative and curious energies. Research demonstrates open-ended projects have a higher rate of involvement from children, resulting in increased learning and retention of curriculum-based objectives. Furthermore, education needs to focus less on the simple reproduction of information and more on critical thinking and problem solving. Can our world’s innovators create without a splash of creativity in their critical thinking?
We have developed a curriculum of creativity that highlights 5 important skills:
It is to this end that we build up a robust program of arts including design, dance, drama, music and more as an important part of every child’s schedule. Moreover, our challenging academics such as mathematics and sciences include artistic elements so that our creative thinkers are able to tackle problems in a new and different way. For example, while learning geometric angles our students created geometric tree art. Blending math and art transforms abstract concepts into something visually concrete.
