In our Nursery Section the children are presented a variety of disciplines that promote a love for learning, autonomy and self-discipline. The children learn to work independently with encouragement and guidance from their teachers. The classrooms are designed to appeal to the children's senses while introducing mathematics, practical life skills, discovery of the world, and development of sensorial and language skills. Using this method encourages young learners to use all their senses to investigate the world and makes learning a more natural and enjoyable activity. We create an open environment that promotes a healthy self-esteem and models strategies for conflict resolution, empathy for others and positive interactions with their peers and adults.
The English curriculum is customised to fit the needs of young learners. Letter sounds, reading and writing are introduced through songs, manipulatives and worksheets. Songs, stories, games and hands-on activities are used to present mathematics. The children learn through play and by manipulating the material first-hand.
A number of activities are provided in French to provide a fun way for children to learn through play. These activities are individualised for small groups and aim to establish a foundation in French before the children reach the Primary Section.
