Our holistic approach to education places a great deal of importance on personal development and the well-being of each student.
As the founder of Rainbow School, I have had the pleasure of creating an international school that focuses on bilingual education. I developed a passion for education, children and English while teaching in England for 10 years. When we opened in 2003, we had 3 students. We now have over 100 students and staff. Our convenient location means that we can extend our classroom to include the full range of Paris's rich offerings.
Throughout their day, students explore the world around them. One day they are dramatising Le Petit Prince for a stage production while developing team-building skills during rehearsals. Another day they are engaging their analytical and creative minds in computational thinking in our mobile computer lab. All our international Primary students participate in customised French as a Foreign Language (FLE) classes to boost excitement about learning a new language. Throughout the year our students step out into the real world during guided field trips, such as our annual international trip to England for an immersive English experience. At Rainbow School we provide a dynamic curriculum because we believe education should spark curiosity and passion.
Early years education in our Nursery program encourages independence, curiosity and personal development. Students become leaders as they take charge of their learning, actively choosing which stimulating activity they engage in. Our teachers facilitate learning while allowing the students the freedom to explore the lesson in front of them and the world around them. With a wealth of manipulatives to choose from, students physically interact with abstract concepts to better aid comprehension. On an expansive art canvas of poster paper laid on the floor, our students were twirling, skittering, and dancing with painted feet; fearlessly walking in a way they never have before.
Rainbow School prides itself on the personal development of its students. Our trained teachers guide the students in exercises to help them name and articulate complex emotions. This is an important first step to fostering empathy. Our activity centres in the Primary classes promote student-led collaboration, which provides learning moments for teamwork and conflict resolution. Our parents are equally committed to the tailored objectives for their children. Together we ensure that our method of integrating rigorous academics with personal self-discovery is achieved at school and at home.
